
The first Animal Crossing console game in eight years, Animal Crossing: New Horizons whisks you off to a deserted island through an exclusive Nook Inc package. That's very much just scratching the surface of what makes this new RPG so special, and without giving too much away, this could very well be the best Zelda game in the long-running franchise to date. One of the biggest new additions to the established formula are the new Zonai devices, such as Ultrahand and Fuse, which add a new perspective to how you can interact with the game world. We've played over 70 hours in our The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom review and can't wait to return to each nook and cranny of Hyrule to see what the fierce environments all over again. With an amazingly detailed and expansive open world, exciting dungeons, thrilling combat, and a new focus on creativity, this is the defining title for Nintendo's aging handheld-console hybrid. Expectations were sky-high from the get-go and yet this follow-up takes everything that made its predecessor special and dials it up to 11. You can cancel the subscription at any time, for instance, right after you've played through Kirby's Adventure, Kirby's Dream Course, Kirby's Dream Land 3, and Kirby Super Star.The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom had massive boots to fill as the successor to the immensely successful Breath of the Wild, a launch title for the Nintendo Switch.

More of an old-school player? A Nintendo Switch Online subscription gives you access to hundreds of NES and SNES titles, including four retro Kirby games. There are new transformations and new locations to discover. You can run through the main story solo or with up to three other players. If you prefer the classic style, there are plenty of 2D platformers on the Nintendo Switch to enjoy. Instead of being a simple sidescroller, this one takes our pink friend into a 3D space where he can platform and fight enemies in new ways. If you're only going to get one of his games, I recommend Kirby and the Forgotten Land. This round little dude has starred in some of the biggest classics through the years, and the fun continues with Nintendo Switch. Each Kirby style has different skills to help the team out. Up to four players get to take on enemies with over 100 quests to play through.
